Repairs & Component Replacement: Strip, fit, repair, and replace defective vehicle components, ensuring all work meets manufacturer and safety standards.
Fleet Maintenance: Support the wider team by diagnosing faults, servicing, and maintaining the entire LGV fleet as required.
Documentation & Reporting: Complete job cards, service sheets, and all relevant paperwork accurately, ensuring they are returned on a weekly basis.
Operational Liaison: Communicate with operations managers to schedule vehicle servicing and minimise operational downtime.
Routine Servicing & Maintenance: Carry out planned servicing and preventive maintenance on company vehicles to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Parts & Stock Management: Work closely with the stores team to facilitate efficient stock control and timely ordering of parts.
MOT Preparation: Prepare vehicles for MOT testing, completing all necessary checks and adjustments to achieve compliance.
Fault Diagnosis: Use diagnostic tools and mechanical expertise to identify faults quickly and accurately.
Work Assessment: Identify any additional repairs or specialist work required and advise if the work should be undertaken by external contractors.

Proven competence in vehicle diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to varying workloads.
Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential).
Minimum 3 years’ experience working as an LGV/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
