What you would be doing

- Writes permits and work orders in accordance with company environmental, health and safety and operational procedures.
- Conducts tasks and operational duties with appropriate PPE as assigned.
- Perform all duties in a Safe and Environmental sound manner.
- Actively participates in unit safety training and monthly safety modules.
- Assist with preventive maintenance of instrumentation.
- Reviews JHA for appropriate PPE needed for routine and non-routine duties.
- Assist with troubleshooting of instrumentation.
- Be an active member of the Emergency Response Group.
- Perform assigned duties needed to keep the lab functioning efficiently.
- Report and review all results of analyses before they are sent to the Operating Unit.
- Assist with laboratory housekeeping and 5S to maintain clean working environment.
- Reports injuries, incidents and hazards to unit supervision as soon as reasonably possible.
- Comply with Laboratory Safety Policy and site HSP’s.
- Analyze raw material, products, intermediate and by-products of the Operating Unit using Laboratory standard operating procedures to ensure product quality.

- Experience with LIMS, SAP, ISO 9001, and other statistical software desired
- Experience in gas chromatography a plus
- Participates in the PACE culture of safety.
- Basic troubleshooting skills with the ability to escalate problems
- This position also requires a high degree of organizational skills to be able to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; good computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrates strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Science strongly preferred, with a minimum of 12 hours in chemistry course work (applicable experience can be substituted for chemistry course work)
- This position requires the ability to work a 12 hour rotating shift schedule; nights, days and holidays, and occasional overtime
- Minimum of two years previous laboratory experience required
- Basic laboratory skills such as quantitative and qualitative testing, ability to interpret results.
