This is a full-time position performing survey field work in a supporting role under the guidance of a party chief. The position may also involve performing survey field work in a leading role when needed, either working independently or with an instrument operator. Candidates will also interact with office staff and the management team when needed.
Candidates will utilize a variety survey instruments and other equipment to obtain measurements and perform field surveys. Candidates will also prepare notes and sketches in a clear and legible manner
Candidates are required to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and resources and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle and Background screening.
Possess OSHA 10, or other types of safety training certifications
Ability to work flexible schedules conducive to project-specific needs that may extend beyond the typical work hours or work weeks. May include night work and/or out of town work.
Physical ability to perform the duties of this position which may include walking long distances and carrying equipment up to 50 pounds in weight.
Candidates can expect to work on project sites within the greater Boston Area, and the entire state of Massachusetts, but there may be occasions where project sites are located outside of this area and travel may be a possibility. Project sites may be located in rural areas, urban environments, and everything in between with the majority of the work being outdoors.
Possess basic knowledge of common survey equipment, practices, and procedures
Candidates may interact with clients and the public while in the field and need to represent WSP in a positive and professional manner.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in closely related discipline is preferred.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and Lecia Infinity or other drafting / data processing programs a plus
Possess or progressing towards LSIT or CST certifications
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and be willing to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
High School diploma or GED required but ideal candidates will have obtained higher education in the field of land surveying or an associated field.
Possess a willingness to learn
2+ years of experience in the field of land surveying and geospatial services or an associated field.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills and should be detail oriented and organized
Ability to work independently with supervision or as part of a team to complete field tasks related to land surveying.
