Produce and oversee development of conceptual designs and schematics
Review and certify engineering plans, models and documents to meet quality control goals and standards
Coordinate and develop relationships with clients, consultants, government agencies, and project staff
Prepare for and facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans
Produce and oversee construction documents, specifications, and construction cost estimates
Identify and develop design and route options; evaluate options to identify a recommended solution
Mentor engineering and technician staff on transportation design tasks
Lead large and multifaceted transportation design projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment
Support proposal and business development efforts
Manage contracts, schedules and budgets

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas (or ability to obtain)
Strong contract management skills (negotiations, fee development, scope development and implementation, invoicing and progress reporting, etc.)
Proven track record of winning work (preferably with the Texas Department of Transportation)
Ability to think strategically and solve complex, multi-faceted problems.
Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams
Strong understanding of AASHTO, State and local design criteria
Strong understanding of highway construction means and methods
Strong understanding of highway design standards, current software and other highway design manuals, trends and guidelines
Expertise in OpenRoads Designer / Microstation / Geopak / InRoads and strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited engineering program
Fifteen (15) + years of experience in civil engineering design and/or transportation/highway engineering
Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver large, complex transportation projects
