Environment Site Coordinator

Description

The Environmental Coordinator reports to the Project Manager and supports and monitors work on wind farm sites across Quebec, from Beaupré to Gaspé. This role requires interacting with a wide range of stakeholders at various levels to ensure projects comply with regulatory authority conditions.

• Plan and monitor environmental aspects of wind turbine construction with a multidisciplinary team, managing deadlines and budgets.
• Monitor civil works and land clearing to ensure environmental compliance.
• Validate compliance with specifications, monitoring plans, laws, regulations, and authority conditions.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Communicate with clients, subcontractors, approval authorities, and project stakeholders.
• Assist in obtaining environmental permits and certificates of authorization.
• Propose solutions to environmental problems.
• Contribute to the development of new tools and services offered by the company.
• Help secure exemptions or additional authorizations when necessary.
• Participate in site meetings and prepare monitoring reports.

Requirements

• Hold a technical or university degree in forest management, environment, forestry, engineering, biology or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar environmental coordination role.
• Membership in the Quebec Order of Forest Engineers (considered an asset).
• Advanced knowledge of environmental standards for construction (e.g., RADF, EQA, Fisheries Act, Species at Risk Act).
• Proficiency with ArcGIS and strong technical skills.
• Advanced bilingualism in English and French, both written and spoken.
• Experience with construction industry health and safety standards (asset).
