What you would be doing

  • Preparing bills of materials and cost estimations.
  • Crafting design documentation for client approvals.
  • Designing and extending underground distribution networks.
  • Showcasing design innovation and optimising costs throughout the design phase.
  • Collaborating with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Upgrading underground distribution infrastructures.
  • Developing scoping notes, performing site surveys and measuring soil resistivity.
  • Conducting on-site inspections, including:
  • Develop detailed engineering plans, including system layouts, equipment selection, and electrical design calculations.
  • Partake in the design, analysis, and implementation of power distribution systems for Power utilities.
  • Ensuring adherence to local utility regulations and standards.

Advanced Diploma or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Previous experience and knowledge of distribution networks, including up to 33kV overhead and underground lines.
  • Previous experience in working to standards for major Power Utilities in Australia such as Western Power.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD.
  • Sound knowledge of engineering standards, regulations and procedures preferably within a Distribution network environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse complex technical issues.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.
