The Vegetation Treatment Worker performs prescribed vegetation maintenance activities around high and low voltage overhead and underground assets, including cutting, clearing and managing vegetation with appropriate equipment and techniques. The position also supports customer service activities and operates related plant and machinery.
- Perform vegetation control per Essential Energy’s Vegetation Management Requirements.
- Safely clear trees and vegetation around high and low voltage electrical infrastructure.
- Operate and maintain chainsaws, elevated work platforms, and other vegetation management tools.
- Conduct ground and elevated work complying with licences and procedures.
- Operate vehicles, plant, tools, and safety equipment following operational and safety standards.
- Participate in safety audits, reporting, and training.
- Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in line with the Code of Conduct.
- Apply safe work practices around electrical infrastructure and comply with WHS and environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate brings practical vegetation management experience, a strong safety mindset and a collaborative approach to field work. Confidence in operating equipment, working around electrical infrastructure and contributing to a team environment is essential.
- Hold a valid driver’s licence and White Card (General Construction Induction Training).
- Possess Certificate II in ESI – Powerline Vegetation Control or equivalent experience.
- Desirable: Close Approach Vegetation Control Authorisation, First Aid, Traffic Control, Elevated Work Platform certification, Chemical Awareness, Manual Handling, Environmental Awareness.
- Demonstrated experience in vegetation management or arboriculture within the energy sector.
- Exhibit trade skills relevant to vegetation control, strong teamwork and communication, and basic computer skills for reporting.
