The role requires night‑time presence to oversee building security, respond to emergencies, maintain records, and support resident needs while residing on the premises. Hours include approximately half an hour of nightly duties and on‑call coverage from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. on weekdays and 24‑hour coverage on weekends and holidays.
Candidates must be able to respond to calls within ten minutes and be on‑site within thirty minutes of any emergency, work effectively with people from diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds, and communicate clearly both in writing and verbally. Minimum qualifications include bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese, strong interpersonal skills, sensitivity to low‑income tenant issues, and good judgment and problem‑solving abilities.
Preferred qualifications include prior experience as a resident manager and familiarity with affordable housing projects.
The Resident Manager ensures safe and secure living conditions for low‑income tenants and must be a reliable, sensitive individual who remains calm during emergencies, exercises impartial judgment, and is willing to perform a variety of tasks. This is a part‑time, on‑call, nonexempt position based in San Francisco, offering $18.67 per hour and a 1‑bedroom on‑site residence.
