- Review shop drawings and Requests for Information (RFIs)
- Determine collectively with multiple design disciplines, the technical approach and design criteria for projects.
- Use computer software as a design tool for solving complex architectural problems.
- Lead and coach junior architectural staff
- Serve as quality control reviewer.
- Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.
- Contribute new designs, or techniques which are of material significance in the solution of important problems.
- Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis.
- Develop design details, plans and specifications.

- Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
- Experience in the transportation sector is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a project architect working within the rail/transit sector.
- Experience in Rhino, 3-D Max, Sketch-up is a plus and LEED Accreditation is also a plus.
- Registered Licensed Architect in the State of New York is preferred but not required.
- Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch preferred)
- Transit Architecture design experience including station and related facilities is required.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite are required.
- Remain current in codes and technologies appropriate to the architecture discipline including IBC, NFPA, etc.
