Applying British Standards and Eurocodes in the design of reinforced concrete structures, pipelines, open channels, and related infrastructure
Monitoring project progress against time, cost, and quality, and reporting deviations where required
Driving innovation by researching and introducing new processes, tools, and ways of working
Preparing design documentation including Pre-Construction Information (PCI), Health and Safety Files, and Quality Assurance Files
Preparing briefs for topographic and ground investigations and reviewing results
Attending and documenting site surveys, reviewing opportunities, risks, and mitigation plans
Supporting technical queries during construction, ensuring structural integrity, safety, and cost-effectiveness of any design changes
Developing designs and coordinating input from multidisciplinary teams
Ensuring all designs comply with DSEAR, CDM, and health & safety requirements

Proven experience in the design and delivery of buried pipework and pipelines, including both pressure and gravity systems
Drive to achieve chartered status with the ICE or IStructE
Awareness of SAP and financial management procedures
A BEng or MEng/MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum 2:1 degree classification)
Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete design and application of British Standards/Eurocodes
Proficiency with engineering software such as TEDDS, Staad Pro, AutoCAD, Robot, Civil 3D, or Revit
Excellent stakeholder management skills and a collaborative working style
Experience of producing design risk assessments and applying risk management principles
Experience designing civil engineering structures within the water/wastewater industry
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical sketches and reports
Understanding of hydraulic principles for open channel and closed conduit flows
Familiarity with survey techniques including laser scanning and drone surveys
