1st Shift - Painter

Description

The Painter position works the first shift, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The role involves applying paint, finishes, and coatings to various surfaces of finished products, inspecting quality, and ensuring work is completed on time while following safety protocols.

• Prepare parts and surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, grinding, brushing, blasting, and priming to ensure proper coating adhesion.
• Inspect parts for weld defects, rust, burrs, blow holes, or surface imperfections; perform rework or return parts for correction as necessary.
• Determine paint requirements for assigned jobs and mix paints to proper viscosity using solvents such as MEK, Xylene, or Toluol.
• Apply paints and coatings, including high‑lead, zinc, epoxy, enamels, varnishes, and primers using spray guns, brushes, or rollers per specifications.
• Mask parts as required and perform spray or brush touch‑ups to achieve smooth, even, professional‑quality finishes.
• Inspect completed work to ensure proper coverage, finish quality, and compliance with specifications.
• Clean and maintain spray guns, paint booths, and equipment daily; perform routine preventive maintenance on nozzles, hoses, pumps, and filtration systems.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure paint booth upkeep, including filter replacement and protective film application.
• Collaborate with production teams and other departments to meet production schedules and shipment requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of painting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Next‑gen fume extraction system.
