Description

The Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) team, based in the UK and India, builds a technical knowledge base that enables engineers to access the information they need. The role focuses on developing processes for copyright compliance, ensuring discoverability of standards, and managing access to technical resources.

Key duties include designing curation processes, drafting internal guidelines, educating engineers on copyright‑free submissions, checking documents for confidential data, training the KIM team, and promoting awareness of engineering subscription resources, including integration with internal AI tools and delivery of training.

Collaboration with the library team involves managing online subscriptions, negotiating with publishers, handling user queries, and staying up‑to‑date with industry standards, codes and external technical content relevant to engineering.

• Develop and manage copyright and client‑confidentiality compliance processes.
• Ensure engineering codes, standards and guidance are searchable and discoverable.
• Administer access to technical resources such as standards, codes and e‑books.
• Draft, update and implement internal copyright and confidentiality guidelines.
• Design streamlined curation workflows for copyright‑protected content.
• Educate engineers on submitting copyright‑free technical content.
• Create procedures for checking documents for confidential information.
• Train and support KIM team members on compliance processes.
• Promote awareness and usage of engineering subscription resources.
• Produce how‑to guides for accessing subscriptions and publish them on the intranet.
• Coordinate with the AI team to make subscription content searchable via AI tools.
• Organise training sessions and materials on subscription use, copyright and policies.
• Assist the UK library manager with online subscription negotiations, usage tracking and user access.
• Respond to user queries in partnership with the global library team.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry standards, codes and e‑books relevant to engineering.

Requirements

Essential qualifications are at least eight years of library or subscription management experience, strong corporate copyright knowledge, policy development skills, and a master’s degree in a related field. Desirable skills include familiarity with engineering publishers, contract review ability, and experience administering SharePoint.
