The post holder is expected to establish a process of continuous improvement through IPRs, to develop staff, and to utilise new technology that the company will implement. They also need to ensure that staff comply with procedures, work to a high quality, and remove unnecessary barriers to the efficient delivery of work.
Responsibility for all people management aspects of their team, including the fair application of HR procedures (IPR, sickness absence, poor performance)
Take ownership of escalated customer issues through to satisfactory resolution.
UK Power Networks will expect the post holder to participate in their management training programme, at a level appropriate to the role.
Ensure that the utilisation of the transport fleet is optimised, and work-related plant, safety critical PPE, tools and equipment are compliant and meet operational requirements.

Experience of the Business from an operational and technical perspective
You will either hold an Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) certificate in managing health and safety, or be willing to obtain this IOSH certificate within a timescale agreed with their manager. New recruits will require to pass the IOSH managing qualification within six months of their appointment to the role.
Demonstrate visible leadership through regular site visits
Understand the range and type of both professional and trade skills that are important in delivering field work, with practical experience in one or more trades
Have excellent influencing
We prefer authorisations to operate on the LV and HV distribution network and we will encourage the post holder to maintain/obtain these competencies.
An ONC qualification, but with a minimum of City and Guilds 2339 (formally 2322) in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent

Be able to manage absence, team related HR issues, daily people management
