You’ll be part of the team that keeps automation projects moving, partnering with system integrators and manufacturers to ensure flawless performance. Responsibilities include on-site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, leading startup and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems, and collaborating with automation engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate their solutions. Travel follows a days-on/days-off rotation (e.g., 5 on‑2 off, 10 on‑4 off, or 14 on‑7 off), giving you exposure to large customers while the ProAutomated team supports you.
We’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem-solvers who love travel, hands-on work, and being part of a team that knows your name. The role begins with a four-week paid training program designed to prepare technically skilled individuals for field work. Success in training requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, so candidates without this background may not be a fit.
We’re seeking candidates who genuinely love travel and are willing to be away from home on rotation, with a working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. Ideal applicants demonstrate adaptability, grit, strong communication and problem-solving skills, live within 50 miles of a major airport, and have a personal vehicle available within 45 days of employment. A technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience of three or more years in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering is required, and you must be authorized to work in the U.S.
The role’s essential physical functions include walking long distances across large facilities, climbing ladders or working at heights, lifting up to 50 lb, and standing, kneeling, or reaching for extended periods in varied environments such as construction sites or outdoors. Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these functions. ProAutomated is an equal‑opportunity employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and a respectful workplace.
At ProAutomated you’ll combine work and travel, experiencing new cities while tackling unique projects and earning travel rewards. Compensation starts at $60,000–$75,000 depending on location, education, and experience, and includes per-diem for meals, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses, plus a 5 % salary increase after six months and annual merit raises. The benefits package offers health, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401(k), short- and long-term disability, paid vacation and flexible time off after 18 months, as well as a people-first culture where teamwork and humor thrive.
