The role primarily supports the preparation of geotechnical reports, collaborating with senior staff to analyze data and formulate recommendations. It also manages construction materials testing (CMT) projects, reviewing daily reports, resolving issues, and training field staff, while overseeing project budgets and preparing invoices for both geotechnical and CMT work.
Additional duties, performed under supervision, include designing boring and test‑pit layouts, preparing drilling packages, obtaining utility clearances, and researching local geologic history. The incumbent supervises field crews, addresses rig access challenges, conducts in‑situ and specialized testing, classifies soil, assigns laboratory tests, and assists in preparing proposals for future projects.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a related field. No prior experience is required, and a professional engineering license is not mandatory at entry but is needed for career advancement. A valid driver’s license is required for any driving responsibilities on behalf of the company.
