ESG Advisor

Description

• Lead ESG data collection, analysis, and reporting to meet internal and external requirements.
• Support the development and execution of the company’s ESG roadmap, policies, and initiatives.
• Establish metrics and KPIs to measure ESG performance and progress against goals.
• Advise leadership on ESG trends, risks, and opportunities that impact business strategy and operations.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvements and risk mitigation related to ESG issues.
• Align ESG efforts with international frameworks (e.g., GRI).
• Develop ESG-related training, awareness sessions, and Team Member engagement initiatives.
• Engage with investors, regulators, industry associations, and other stakeholders on ESG topics.
• Prepare disclosures for sustainability reports, regulatory filings, and investor communications.
• Monitor evolving ESG regulations and standards to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate with internal teams (HR, Finance, Operations, Legal, Internal Audit, Marketing) to embed ESG practices across the organization.

Requirements

• Experience in stakeholder engagement and materiality assessments.
• Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, standards, and Sustainability reporting framework (E.g. GRI).
• Benchmark against peers and industry best practices.
• Strong understanding of environmental and social sustainability topics.
• 2+ years of experience in ESG, sustainability reporting and /or communications, corporate responsibility, or related roles.
• Ability to interpret data, build performance narratives, and distill complex insights with precision.
• Knowledge of climate-related risk assessment, DEI initiatives, or governance best practices.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to juggle multiple initiatives and meet deadlines.
• Professional certifications (e.g., ESG Certificate, SASB FSA Credential, GRI Standards Training).
• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, Finance, Public Policy, or related field (Master’s an asset).
• Excellent analytical, research, and project management skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability in reporting.
