Identify and recommend safety equipment, material and supplies for work operations
Identify corrective actions necessary to bring job sites into compliance with applicable codes, laws, regulations, and standards, and explain these measures to others
Recommend and follow up to verify the implementation of corrective actions
Conduct and/or assist with job hazard analysis
Coordinate all tasks and functions on site to ensure they are performed safely in accordance with company safety policies and procedures and OSHA standards
Coach and teach safety best practices and behaviors that prevent injury
Inspect the availability, readiness and proper use of required accident prevention procedures, safety and fire prevention equipment, protective clothing and devices, and first aid supplies
Sustain safe operations by conducting site visits/inspections of facilities, work areas and equipment; observing and documentation employee work practices and improving safety preparedness
Assist in reporting and investigating workers compensation and general liability claims on job sites; act as a liaison with workers’ compensation issues
Assist the employees and management of the site in the enforcement of the safety procedures within the Safety and Risk Program to ensure state and federal OSHA compliance

Structure and content of the English language. Spanish language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar is a plus
Ability to learn and enforce current corporate policies and procedures
Three or more years’ experience in the safety field, preferably in a construction setting
OSHA 30 certification (minimum)
Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and enforce safe operations of construction equipment (train the trainer certifications are a plus)
Knowledge of and ability to enforce current Federal and Virginia Occupational Safety & Health regulations
Knowledge of various computer software programs, applications, and ability to use them efficiently
Construction Site Safety Technician Certification (CSST) is a plus
Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and enforce current NFPA Standards applicable to work operations and US Army Corps of Engineers Safety program
Ability and willingness to travel to multiple jobs and customer sites
Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
High School Diploma or equivalent
