Description

The Groundskeeper is responsible for daily cleaning and upkeep of interior common areas and exterior grounds, ensuring they remain presentable and functional. Key duties include maintaining laundry rooms, vacuuming foyers, managing trash collection, sweeping sidewalks, shoveling and salting icy walkways, leaf‑blowing, and caring for ornamental plants, trees, and flower beds. The employee also keeps recreational and pool areas clean, assists with patio furniture setup and takedown, performs routine property walks to enforce rules, handles paint touch‑ups, and assists the maintenance team as needed.

• Clean interior common areas, laundry rooms, and vacuum buildings; manage trash removal.
• Maintain exterior grounds by sweeping sidewalks, shoveling and salting icy walkways, leaf‑blowing, and watering, pruning, and mulching plantings.
• Keep recreational and pool areas tidy and assist with patio furniture setup and takedown.
• Conduct daily property walks to enforce resident rules and address abandoned items.
• Perform paint touch‑ups in vacant units and support the maintenance team as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and use required PPE (gloves, eyewear, ear plugs, Yaktrax).

Requirements

Candidates must be at least 18 years old, preferably have prior experience with large residential grounds, and be knowledgeable about cleaning and lawn‑care products. Strong oral and written communication, diplomatic interaction, decision‑making, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills are required. The position is physically demanding, requiring regular lifting of up to 80 lb (with assistance), extensive walking, bending, climbing stairs, and the use of personal protective equipment such as safety gloves, eyewear, ear plugs, and Yaktrax.

The hourly wage ranges from $17 to $19.
