General Laborer

Description

• Follow OSHA and H&K safety policies on all tasks.
• Acquire and set up tools for daily operations, including pipe lasers and cut saws.
• Measure, stake, and align grade lines; level earth to fine specifications.
• Bolt, nail, align forms and erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
• Mix, smooth, and finish concrete; operate paving equipment and direct traffic.
• Perform pipe handling: position, join, seal sections, backfill, and verify proper slope.
• Conduct paving duties such as pre‑run markings, fine grading, vibratory plate operation, and asphalt shoveling.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions, around moving machinery, with moderate noise levels.

Requirements

HTI Contractors Division of the H&K Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated General Laborer to join its team. The role involves working on various construction projects, often shifting between tasks as the situation requires.

Final compensation is determined by leadership based on scope of work, education, experience, and demonstrated performance. Applicants must complete pre‑employment drug testing and a physical examination.

• Communicate clearly, follow written/oral instructions, and solve on‑site problems.
• Meet physical requirements: lift up to 50 lb, stand, walk, climb, and use hands extensively.
• Minimum one month of related experience or equivalent training; strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use appropriate PPE and meet physical job demands.
• Preferred experience in heavy civil, road construction, or quarries; OSHA or related safety certifications are a plus.
