o After the establishment of the company’s battery production factory in the Middle East, provide comprehensive legal support for daily factory operations, including labor affairs, environmental regulations, health and safety, customs and import/export, government permits, and licenses.
o Develop and execute regional compliance training programs.
This position will serve as the Legal Business Partner (Legal BP) for the company in the Middle East and Africa, fully responsible for supporting legal compliance needs in these regions. Core responsibilities include ensuring the review and negotiation of contracts in areas such as sales, procurement, factory operations, and local investments, conducting compliance analyses, managing legal risks, and providing practical and implementable legal solutions. Candidates must have the ability to work independently in a multicultural environment and collaborate closely with business teams.
o Handle local disputes, litigation, and arbitration related to factory operations.
o Establish and maintain a regional standard contract repository.
o Responsible for drafting, reviewing, revising, and negotiating various contracts in Chinese, English, and Arabic, including but not limited to sales contracts, procurement agreements, engineering contracts, technical service agreements, joint venture agreements, etc.
o Manage communications with local law firms, government agencies, and regulatory authorities to ensure company operations comply with local requirements.
o Continuously track legal and regulatory developments in the Middle East and Africa, especially in areas related to foreign investment, trade, intellectual property, energy, and industrial manufacturing, and provide timely risk alerts and recommendations to management.
Excellent business acumen and problem-solving skills, able to provide pragmatic and efficient legal advice.
Relevant experience in energy storage, new energy, manufacturing, or heavy industry is preferred.
Excellent written and spoken communication skills in Chinese and English.
Ability to work independently, adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment, and handle pressure effectively.
Ability to use Arabic as a working language for communication and document review.
Familiarity with trade, procurement, or regulatory policies in the new energy sector.
Experience in legal matters related to the establishment or operation of local factories, familiar with labor, environmental, and customs regulations.
Work experience in the Middle East, familiar with the local business environment and legal practice.
Outstanding cross-cultural communication and coordination abilities, able to collaborate efficiently with colleagues and partners from different backgrounds.
At least 5 years of experience in a corporate legal department or a well-known law firm, with solid commercial law knowledge.
Basic understanding of the application of Islamic law in local commercial activities.
Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, with a valid legal professional qualification certificate (from China or overseas).
Proficient in reviewing and negotiating sales and procurement contracts, with experience handling complex commercial contracts independently.
