Gilbane is seeking a Senior General Superintendent II to oversee field operations on large construction projects. The role requires daily presence on the job site and acts as a key member of the project team, driving safe, on‑time delivery.
- Coordinate trade contractors and subcontractors to ensure high‑quality work that meets the project schedule.
- Supervise and develop the project team, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Manage the general conditions and Next 150/Site Services budget.
- Create, document, and communicate field work plans and change orders.
- Lead site walks with owners, architects/engineers, and financial institutions to showcase progress.
- Ensure all required permits are obtained and schedule inspections with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
- Serve as primary safety representative, monitor compliance, and drive a safety‑first culture.
- Develop and oversee the Quality in Construction (QIC) plan in partnership with Operations Excellence.
- Resolve jurisdictional disputes with support from Business Unit leadership.
- Mentor junior team members and lead technical training sessions.
- Participate in business development, pre‑construction, and scope‑writing activities.
- Administer Time and Materials tracking and manage daily huddles and stretch/flex scheduling.
- Lead ground‑up construction projects with foundation experience.
- Foster inclusive work environment and coach career development of team members.
- Partner with business development to align sales strategies, optimize profit margins, and strengthen client relationships.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent experience).
- 15+ years experience on $50‑100M+ commercial/industrial projects in a lead superintendent role.
- OSHA 30‑hour certification, STS‑C certification, and current First Aid/CPR/AED/Stop‑the‑Bleed training.
- Strong technical, communication, organizational and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and industry‑standard construction software; construction document and drawing literate.
- Knowledge of pull‑planning process, cost control, scheduling and all construction divisions.
- Demonstrated ability to enforce safety plans and maintain an incident‑free environment.
- Experience supervising large project teams and understanding labor relations.
