  • Deliver training, toolbox talks, and MSHA/OSHA-required courses.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Help implement and champion company-wide safety initiatives.
  • Lead and facilitate safety meetings at plants, quarries, and field sites throughout the region.
  • Partner with employees and leadership to promote a “Safety First” culture.
  • Coordinate safety efforts with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Associate’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) or related field.
  • Certification as an MSHA instructor or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Awkward positions: Ability to transition between sitting, standing, and kneeling on the ground as required.
  • Vision: 20/40 corrected vision to see moving safety hazards, moving equipment, vehicles, and obstructions.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills.
  • MSHA Part 48A Instructor Card.
  • Hearing: Corrected to hear verbal safety warnings and instructions.
  • Conditions: Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Must be adaptable to changing environmental factors and the demands of an active quarry operation.
  • Climbing: Must be physically capable of safely climbing in and out of equipment that is greater than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain.
  • 2–5 years of safety experience in mining, aggregates, or similar environments.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and ATF regulations.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Balance: Must maintain stability while standing and walking on potentially slick or uneven surfaces, sometimes while carrying equipment or materials.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • OSHA 510 certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Safe Vehicle Entry and Exit- Employees must be able to enter and exit commercial motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment while maintaining three points of contact (two hands and one foot, or two feet and one hand).
  • Heights: Ability to climb and work safely at heights exceeding 10 feet.
  • Safety experience in aggregates or hot mix asphalt industries.
  • Heavy lifting: Ability to lift and maneuver awkward parts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
  • Willingness to travel daily within Central KY & Northern TN.
