In this senior role the leader will develop marketing strategies for new market penetration and client retention, manage key client relationships, and oversee energy projects across the Mid‑Atlantic. Success requires driving business development, leading multidisciplinary teams, handling complex projects, and mentoring staff.
The Market Leader will work closely with VHB’s Corporate Energy Evolution Practice and collaborate with corporate, regional and state leadership on strategic pursuits that have company‑wide impact.
Core responsibilities include conducting market research, defining regional vision, leading a dynamic team, identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, preparing winning proposals, setting strategic direction, partnering with the Regional Marketing Director on go/no‑go decisions, managing client contracts, acting as Principal‑in‑Charge or Senior Project Manager on selected projects, and monitoring milestones and quarterly goals.
Key skills required are a proven track record of generating new business, strong leadership and entrepreneurial abilities, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication, presentation and team‑building expertise, strategic thinking, problem‑solving, stakeholder engagement and the ability to mentor staff across cross‑functional projects.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline (master’s preferred), possess ten or more years of experience serving energy‑market clients in the Mid‑Atlantic, and have a PE license, AICP certification or similar credentials. Experience with routing, siting and permitting for electric transmission and natural gas, as well as renewable technologies such as utility‑scale solar, wind, BESS, geothermal and renewable natural gas, is essential.
