Monitor project health by reviewing project plans, design, budgets, billings, schedule, and progress, resolve problems, and coordinate all project activities. Course correct with team members to make sure project objectives are met (including other departments and sub-consultants).
Consult collaboratively with the external project team to achieve project goals.
Participate in new hire interviews and staffing selection.
Actively involved in developing future business and building relationships with existing clients, 25% of projects should be new business and 75% of projects should be assigned projects or repeat clients.
Increase the team's overall effectiveness by developing staff, aligning individual team member strengths with appropriate project tasks, identifying potential obstacles (both internal and external), and performing reviews.
Oversee the Technical engineering components of the project.
Responsible for managing permit submittal processes and coordination with review authorities. Ability to determine these requirements quickly as project locations vary.
Be an ambassador for EPS at industry events and conferences. May require attending project team and public meetings after hours.
Responsible for preparing contracts and proposals, including establishing the scope of work, schedules, and fees. Prepare and submit proposals to clients after SPM review. Participate in new project interviews.
Monitor the work of team members to ensure that they adhere to industry standards and best practices.
Serve as the primary client contact to understand goals, ensure the design meets their needs and specifications, and represent the client in public meetings.
Provide quality assurance and control. Provide direction to technical staff on project issues and general engineering principles.
Balance staffing and workload through collaboration with the team and SPM
Effectively delegates tasks (production and administrative) to allow for an increased focus on management tasks.
Develop project timelines, including phases, completion dates, and milestones, and establish workflow and project plan.
Conduct regular 1:1’s with staff and performance reviews in alignment with the performance management cycle.
Responsible for invoice management, including change orders and additional services.
Evaluate company practices and processes to provide input for continuous improvement.
Responsible for completing personal timecards accurately and reviewing and approving associate timecards on time.
Manage, lead, and oversee all team activities, including production documents, client management, internal team management, and project financials.
Participate in the execution of strategic initiatives.

Strong understanding of civil engineering design processes, plan set preparation, and obtaining agency approvals.
Demonstrated ability to work accurately, follow procedures and schedules, and prioritize multiple tasks for highly technically capable individuals in a complex matrix environment.
