

Provides engineering solutions and consulting for structural integrity, materials, and asset management.
Primary responsibilities include conducting nondestructive examinations (NDE) to assess the condition of critical industrial components.
Structural Integrity Associates is seeking NDE Level II and/or Level III Examiners. Candidates should have industry experience and hold current certification in at least one surface method (VT, MT, or PT) and one volumetric method (UT, ET, or RT). Additional training and certification opportunities are available to expand skill set and support SI’s core competencies.
Key attributes cover business understanding, technical expertise, and project management. The role involves participating in business development, understanding SI’s business units, and working with a coach to develop entrepreneurial skills. Technically, the examiner must grasp mechanical concepts, NDE principles, set up and calibrate equipment, perform inspections, interpret and document results, train Level I personnel, and be familiar with codes and standards. Project management expectations include ethical behavior, independent examinations, troubleshooting, teamwork, willingness to work in extreme environments, extensive travel, flexible scheduling, and safety compliance.
Required skills and qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent with education toward an AS/BS in science, materials, or engineering, and at least two years of industry experience as a Level II NDE examiner or comparable experience with a degree. Candidates must have Level II NDE certification in at least two surface methods and one volumetric method within six months, with preference for MT/PT and UT with Phased Array or TOFD endorsements.
The work environment may involve dirty, radiological, or physically challenging conditions such as heat, cold, climbing, or carrying equipment. Examiners must maintain focus in hazardous industrial settings including heights, scaffolds, noisy locations, and proximity to operating machinery and welding activities. Experience in power plant environments is preferred.
