Provide specialized welding & inspection support for construction to ensure construction meets all code and Bechtel procedures including those found in the tank welding control manual.
Provide leadership and takes personal accountability for site safety, environmental and health program.
Coordinate inspection activities with tank project engineer using ITP and engineering drawings.
Support welding techniques and inspections that are special to tank construction.
Help monitor welding qualification to ensure high quality welders are being tested and hired.
Supervise welding & inspection of field erected tanks.
Help manage the issue of weld filler materials for tank welders to meet Bechtel and Code requirements.

Proficient with automatic tank welding equipment (AGW, AVW, LT-7’s), set-up, troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
Prior experience in a welding technician role on large scale industrial direct hire API 650 / 620 or ASME Section VIII construction projects.
Knowledge of AWS, API, NFPA, AWWA, ASTM and ASNT codes, specifications, and standards.
Min. 10 years’ experience working with an industry known tank and vessel field construction/ inspection company(ies).
Must be certifiable by written examination to Bechtel's nondestructive examination requirements as NDE Level II Visual Examination.
A minimum or 5 years’ experience in direct hire welding and NDE of tanks.
Strong technical background and knowledge of all phases of tank welding applications and methods, and non-destructive examination relating to tank construction activities.
Proficient in multiple welding processes applications.
