Identify opportunities for improvement in solar cell efficiency through engineering, scientific or empirical methods.

Will climb stairs on an occasional basis.
Works under minimal supervision. May assist in orienting, mentoring, and training lower level employees.

Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Physics or Instrumentation (strongly preferred) with at least 1 year of experience in field relevant to this role.
Effective communication skills.
May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
Analytical skills to interpret data and derive conclusions.
20/40 vision in both eyes together, with or without correction, is required.
Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
Primary/secondary ownership of data tables and analysis methods and reporting.
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics or similar technical discipline, with 2 years of technical work experience as an Associate Engineer or 3 years as a Development Engineer Technician III with First Solar.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel-toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards, and a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair) for those requiring respirator use.
Skills and hands-on experience in execution of experiments in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to make and execute detailed plans to achieve objectives with strong sense of ownership.
Advanced knowledge in several skills that are relevant to the group, including statistical data analysis techniques including but not limited to JMP, DOE, SPC.
PhD in an engineering discipline, with research experience aligned with job functions will be considered.
