Intermediate Environmental Planner

Description

• Drive project delivery with a key focus on efficient execution, project controls, and safety
• Take part in onthejob learning and professional development opportunities.
• Contribute to proposals, pre qualifications, and relationship building with existing and prospective clients.
• Participate in team and independent based work.
• Support and ensure implementation of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies, procedures, standards and guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSSE professionals during the execution of all project phases .
• Prepare and review environmental evaluations, regulatory applications and technical submissions.
• Communicate and collaborate with other environmental and regulatory specialists to ensure consistency in project execution.
• Work in a collaborative team of technical environmental and engineering specialists to support the approval and permitting process.

Requirements

• Ability to work with initiative, professionalism and confidentiality, multitask and adapt to change in a very dynamic environment.
• Previous consulting experience preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of environmental and regulatory related experience in the energy sector (upstream and/or midstream oil and gas, mining, electrical transmission, power generation, energy transition).
• Proven problemsolving skills and innovative thinking.
• Demonstrated effective writing and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of provincial (AB) and federal regulations, environmental assessment processes, permitting requirements and construction planning needs.
• Key knowledge includes experience within one or more of the following regulatory agencies/legislation: AUC
• Willingness to share experience and support the development of junior staff.
• A Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, Environmental Studies or relevant Engineering field.
• Holding or eligibility to obtain a relevant professional designation (e.g., P. Bio, R.P.F., P.Ag, EP, P.Eng) preferred but, not necessary.
