You will be responsible for producing detailed commissioning programmes and managing the entire commissioning process, ensuring seamless integration of all building services.
As an M&E Services Manager (Mechanically Biased), you will manage building services designs, information and sub-contractors for a portfolio of specific projects, from enquiry stage through to handover and aftercare. You will manage the successful integration and delivery of MEP services for your projects, ensuring our supply chain delivers the required benchmarks of Health and Safety, Quality, and programme compliance.
Additionally, you will take charge of the management and coordination of all utilities installations and related statutory authorities, working collaboratively across all departments in alignment with the Inter-Departmental Integration of Activities Schedule.

- Good construction knowledge with good knowledge of Walter Lilly standard forms and procedures
Windlesham, Surrey (this is a site-based role) with the flexibility to attend projects in London and the Home Counties
- Extensive MEP technical knowledge and the ability to comprehensively interrogate all technical information, design details and identify potential design issues
- Ability to identify change and assess the resulting implications
- Willingness to work as part of a team, reporting into lead M&E Manager and Construction team PM
- An understanding of standard/commonly used contractual provisions
- Ability to understand the landscape of Walter Lilly clients and consultants, the different roles, their competition and peers
- Working knowledge of temporary services and site logistic requirements
- Ability to prepare professional and accurate technical appraisal documents for submission
- An understanding of programming principles and how MEP integrates with the building fabric
- Experience in successfully dealing with Utility suppliers
- Sufficient commercial acumen to compare subcontractor submissions against cost plans and identify over-valuation in subcontractor applications
- Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices
- A clear and concise understanding of CDP requirements, processes and responsibilities
- Ability to take responsibility for a complete building or package of works from receipt of design to handover
- Appropriate level of IT competency with the ability to utilise Walter Lilly systems
- Ability to review, understand and challenge construction and pre-construction programmes and progress reports
- Ability to obtain/maintain CSCS accreditation
- Experience working on laboratory fit-outs and large-scale projects and an understanding of the complexities involved with such projects
- Familiarity with the Walter Lilly Supply Chain members and knowledge of their capabilities and relevant experience
- Ability to understand subcontractor’s contractual responsibilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, inspiring and motivating others in the process
- Ability to understand what information is needed to report internally on relationships and project opportunities
- A comprehensive understanding of commissioning access requirements
