The role involves performing calibrations, nondestructive tests, and evaluations to determine acceptance or rejection according to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. Inspectors must accurately record test results and data, stay familiar with the limitations of the NDT methods, and provide on‑the‑job guidance to Level I technicians. Maintaining a clean, orderly work environment and actively contributing to the company’s safety culture are essential, as is careful handling of company property, equipment, tools, and customer product.
Element offers positions for Fluorescent Penetrant Inspectors at the Trainee, Level I, and Level II levels. Candidates for Level I/Trainee will be considered and must complete classroom instruction and on‑the‑job training to achieve Level II certification within the first year. Attendance at scheduled evening classes is required, with initial training on the first shift (6 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) before moving to later shifts.
Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED; technical/mechanical aptitude and computer proficiency are preferred. Strong written communication skills are needed to read, interpret, and present numerical data accurately, as well as to ensure correct spelling and grammar. Candidates should be able to prioritize critical activities, manage time effectively, and demonstrate self‑motivation, problem‑solving, and analytical abilities while communicating professionally with team members and supervisors.
