The OSP Engineer role focuses on design, planning, and implementation of outside plant projects for copper and fiber networks, requiring strong engineering, permitting, construction coordination, budget management, and compliance expertise.
- Design and plan OSP facilities for copper and fiber (aerial, buried, conduit) and prepare engineering drawings and calculations.
- Conduct field measurements, develop project budgets, monitor costs, and perform quality inspections.
- Prepare and submit permit packages to municipal, county, state, DNR, railroad, and pipeline agencies ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with municipal officials, utilities, and contractors to manage road projects, relocations, and avoid delays.
- Update CAD (FROGS), Varasset, and SiteTracker tools; support service orders, subdivision expansions, dark fiber MDUs, and related tasks.
- Manage SSP contractor relationships to ensure timely, budget‑conscious project completion and assist with make‑ready and joint‑use activities.
- Perform site surveys, investigate PUC complaints, create capital projects for cell towers or plant repairs, and resolve plant damage requests.
- Maintain engineering records, draft correspondence, reports, and documentation.

- Possess 3–5+ years of copper/fiber OSP engineering experience and at least 5 years in network engineering, permitting, and fiber record management.
- Demonstrated project management, organizational, and multi‑project handling skills with proficiency in FROGS, Varasset, and SiteTracker.
- Strong communication and collaboration with municipal officials, utilities, contractors, and cross‑functional teams.
- Willingness to travel locally for fieldwork; preferred location PST, with consideration for MST candidates.
