Assist and consult with other team members on a regular basis for designated projects
To perform third party reviews of reports and designs related to corrosion, cathodic protection, and stray current
Establish and maintain positive client relationships
Potential field work consisting of soil resistivity testing, structure potentials, rightofway evaluations, and constructability assessments for AC mitigation and cathodic protection systems
Contribute to Stantec Specifications, Procedures and Standards as part of Stantec’s continuous improvement
Support projects dealing with Cathodic Protection (CP), stray current mitigation and engineering assessments related to asset integrity
Coordinate engineering aspects of installation of AC mitigation and cathodic protection systems
Delivery of organized, accurate, timely and costeffective integrity services that meet client, Stantec and industry/regulatory standards
Technical report writing, preparation of charts, tables, and design reports
Design and evaluation of CP systems and stray current mitigation (field and office)
Perform engineering calculations (resistance, current requirement, current distribution and attenuation, ground potential rise, etc.)
Develop detailed designs as required and collaborate with drafting personnel to prepare design drawing packages
Liaise with and provide technical assistance to other divisions within the company

Compliance with Stantec’s EH&S program and Quality System, with a focus on safety in the field
P.Eng. status recognized by APEGA and/or other provinces in Canada
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and adaptability
Strong technical background and understanding of corrosion, CP, interference, and corrosion, including design, assessment, field data gathering and troubleshooting
Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and problemsolving skills are essential
Excellent computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel, Word, and mapping tools such as Google Earth
Class 5 (AB) driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract, as some travel may be required
Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
Demonstrated technical proficiency
Minimum AMPP (NACE) CP2 certification required, NACE CP3 or CP4 certification considered an asset
Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in an engineering discipline
Between 5 to 10 years of Corrosion, CP and/or stray current mitigation work experience, with an emphasis placed on CP experience
Strong work ethic and selfmotivation
Be familiar with the applicable codes and legislation (AMPP/NACE, CSA, API, PHMSA, DOT, etc.)
Previous experience with AC stray current mitigation is an asset
