The role is Transport Sector Leader for Queensland/NT, responsible for optimizing resource utilisation, coordinating marketing activities across Roads & Highways, Rail & Metro, Ports & Maritime and Aviation, and reporting to Regional Directors.
The incumbent will provide transitional expertise, support client services, reporting and business development, and will oversee the use of human and other resources across the Transport Sectors, aligning with strategic and operational direction.
Key duties include supporting transport leadership in strategic direction, managing resource utilisation, prioritising national support services, and modelling SMEC’s values, ethics and code of conduct.
Candidates should have 15+ years of industry experience, recognised authority in transport infrastructure design, and prior managerial or team‑lead roles within engineering consulting firms.
They must demonstrate ability to manage multi‑disciplinary projects to budget and client specifications, build trusted stakeholder relationships, lead business development for large multi‑sector pursuits, produce high‑quality tender documents, and effectively manage team performance.
