The laborer/Fire Watch supports construction activities at a new site by handling equipment, performing digging tasks, retrieving tools, and providing fire‑watch coverage as directed by supervisors or journeymen.
- Perform a range of manual activities such as moving equipment, digging, retrieving equipment, and standing by for fire safety.
- Climb onto structures and scaffolding.
- Follow directions from supervisor.
- Use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls and tools.
- Occasionally work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work off platforms.
- Use vision to focus, see distances, colors, depth perception and peripheral vision.

The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including the use of fire extinguishers and climbing on structures or scaffolding when needed, while following all directions from the supervisory team.
Successful candidates must meet the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 lb, and working outdoors in varying weather for up to 12 hours per day, and must wear the required personal protective equipment. - Required to wear PPE such as hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear protection, masks/respirators, safety vest, gloves and steel‑toe boots.
