Description

The role provides technical assistance to maintenance supervision for the repair and improvement of all process equipment throughout the plant.

• Review fixed equipment inspection reports and recommend repair or replacement.
• Ensure inspections are timely and inspection intervals are optimized.
• Verify pressure safety valve inspection frequencies are adequate and track compliance.
• Evaluate fixed equipment fitness for continued service.
• Perform root cause analysis to identify and correct equipment problems and prevent recurrence.
• Monitor equipment repairs in shops to ensure timely and proper completion.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop and improve maintenance procedures for inspection and repair.
• Participate actively in process improvement programs such as Six Sigma.
• Contribute to the PACE safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to health, safety, and environment.

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS require a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with professional certifications (PE, CMRP, API 510/570/653) considered a plus. Candidates should have at least five years of maintenance or reliability experience in the petrochemical industry, familiarity with stationary equipment, NDE, ASME/API codes, corrosion, metallurgy, and OSHA process safety management for mechanical integrity.

The position involves frequent sitting, standing, walking, manual handling, and communication, with occasional stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Employees must regularly lift up to 10 lb and occasionally lift up to 50 lb, and possess required vision capabilities.

Work is performed both in an office environment with moderate noise and in operating units where personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection is required. Exposure to outdoor elements, stairs, elevators, and occasional travel (air or auto) may also be part of the job.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; PE, CMRP, API 510/570/653 certifications are a plus.
• Possess at least five years of maintenance/reliability experience in the petrochemical industry.
• Experience with stationary equipment; knowledge of NDE, shop processes, ASME/API codes, corrosion, and metallurgy preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA’s process safety management standard for mechanical integrity.
• Proficient in MS Office and have working knowledge of a CMMS and an Inspection Data Management System (IDMS).
• Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and as a team player.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
