The Strategic Procurement & Planning Division seeks a Lead Data Specialist in Mossville, Illinois. This role owns the management of core U.S. tools and data platforms that enable Caterpillar employees to succeed and drive impactful decisions across the business.
Key duties include supporting the Enterprise Procurement Data Platform (EPDP) and Supply Chain Data Platform (SCDP), establishing data governance policies, and developing digital capabilities for the division. The specialist will also lead project initiatives, create visualizations and documentation, and assess solutions for procurement and supply‑chain processes.
A bachelor’s degree in advanced analytics, computer science, data analytics, engineering, finance, business administration, or statistics is required. Essential technical skills cover ETL processes, cloud environments (AWS, data lakes, warehouses, streaming), and data quality assurance using tools such as Qlik, Snaplogic, and Power BI.
Ideal candidates are familiar with basic procurement and supply‑chain principles and have hands‑on experience with systems like EPDP, SCDP, CLIDB, QNET, and others. Proficiency in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical, Data Vault), data mapping, and visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI is also valued.
The position does not offer domestic relocation assistance or visa sponsorship and may require up to 10% travel. Candidates must be able to work on‑site in Mossville, Illinois.
Compensation ranges from $128,470 to $192,710, complemented by an annual incentive bonus and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), HSA, PTO, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and various voluntary protections.
