Accounts Payable Assistant

Description

You'll support our Accounts Payable function by helping process invoices, checking expenses, and ensuring our vendors and suppliers are paid accurately and on time. You’ll be joining a supportive team and gaining hands-on experience within a busy, friendly finance department.

• Assisting with supplier invoice queries and helping resolve discrepancies
• Helping maintain accurate VAT records
• Supporting weekly payment runs and preparing scheduled payments
• Checking employee expense claims for correct coding and approvals
• Assisting with simple reporting tasks and ad-hoc requests from the finance team
• Processing and inputting supplier invoices accurately
• Uploading invoice documentation into Deltek and ensuring complete file records
• Contributing to ongoing improvements in our accounts payable processes

Requirements

Cumming Group is growing, and we’re looking for an organised, detail-driven Accounts Payable Assistant to join our Finance team in Penarth. This role is perfect for someone early in their finance career or looking to take the next step in accounts payable.

• Basic VAT awareness
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Some previous accounts payable or finance admin experience
• Experience using Deltek or other finance systems
• Competent with Excel, Outlook, and general Microsoft Office applications
• Comfortable working with numbers and basic finance tasks
• Ability to prioritise and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
