The Environmental Specialist will guide new R&D projects in selecting materials that satisfy customer, corporate, and legislative criteria, analyse data, and verify that chosen materials meet all required standards. The role also leads the compilation of life‑cycle assessments and supports energy‑efficiency measurements at KONE test facilities and customer sites.
Key tasks include collecting material and chemical information from the supplier base and KONE factories, training suppliers when necessary, and supporting them to obtain relevant compliance documentation. The specialist will analyse and validate data for various declarations and certifications, cooperate with global teams on material management, and gather life‑cycle inventories for EN15804‑compliant Environmental Product Declarations. Participation in product development to achieve long‑term Science‑Based targets for scope 3 emissions and support for KTI project development are also essential.

Strong MS Excel skills are required, and familiarity with software tools for generating Environmental Product Declarations, green‑building rating schemes, and carbon‑footprint calculations is advantageous. Coding ability for large Excel files (e.g., VBA or Python) and fluency in written and spoken English are also valued.
