Civil Graduate Engineer

Description

• Work with the appropriate authorities having jurisdiction to obtain plan approval and permits.
• Assist in the preparation of final engineering specifications.
• Designs work in compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards.
• Perform drainage system design and calculations including detention pond and storm sewer sizing.
• Complete preliminary engineering studies and reports.
• Periodic site observations during construction.
• Design water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems .
• Perform site grading.
• Review of submittals and answer Contractor’s RFIs.
• Assist in final engineering plan production with CAD staff.
• Perform quantity take-offs and estimates.

Requirements

• 0-2 years of experience since graduation working in the A/E/C industry.
• Ability to work interdependently within a team environment.
• Must be flexible to changes and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Florida Certified EI preferred
• Familiarity with local and regional design criteria.
• Highly proficient with MS Office suite.
• Excellent communications skills both oral and written.
• Familiarity with design software such as StormWise, StormCAD, and WaterCAD.
• Experience with AutoCAD, with a general knowledge of Civil 3D preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with coworkers, owners, and public agency officials.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university required .
