Organize projects and their proper staffing to assure guidelines for their successful execution are followed per company guidelines and standards.
Mentor and inspire others, shaping the next generation of engineering leaders.
Monitor financials for wastewater treatment projects with a focus on maintaining profitability through established metrics.
Meet sales and profitability goals to be established through annual business planning.
Own the performance management process for staff and conduct annual performance appraisals.
Provide for growth of the department including recruitment, development and retention of staff.
Advocating for safety within the group.
Perform business development for the Denver wastewater treatment department.
Serve as the technical advisor providing senior-level input and evaluation on projects in the region.
Work with other Water Practice department managers to form a cohesive group with regards to staff utilization, project execution, and overall synergy.
Monitor and manage the allocation of staff resources in order to meet or exceed time chargeability goals.
Participate in annual business planning process.

Previous leadership and/or management experience is preferable.
Bring exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills to lead project teams through complex challenges and dynamic schedules.
Minimum of seven (7) years of related professional experience in design and/or project management required (a technical master’s degree could substitute one year of experience)
Ability to execute projects in a manner to meet and exceed internal expectations for quality, schedule, labor/cost budgets, project profitability, safety, and client satisfaction.
Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage change.
Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maximize profitability on projects.
Must be expert in use of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to execute projects meeting or exceeding client expectations for quality, schedule and budget.
Demonstrated supervision skills and personnel management skills to review work assignments and performance to ensure the efficient, cost-effective utilization of staff.
Must possess strong project management skills and a strategic perspective.
Ability to attract, hire, develop, and retain the best people into Burns & McDonnell.
A Registered Professional Engineer strongly preferred.
Bachelor Degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering or related degree from accredited program required.
An established network of contacts in the Rocky Mountain region and demonstrated business development capabilities strongly preferred.
Experience must include managing a wide variety of wastewater treatment engineering projects strongly preferred.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
