

Produces HVAC, fire, security and building automation systems to optimize and protect buildings globally.
In the field, apprentices act as trusted advisors, delivering high-level service to resolve building inefficiencies and meet customer needs. They will keep Johnson Controls, contractors, and customers informed of job progress, provide recommendations, quotes, and upselling opportunities, and comply with attendance requirements for Union training during the first year.
Apprentices will receive hands-on training on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites, as well as certified instruction through the Service Technical Academy (STA) that leads to factory certification. They will be equipped with the necessary tools and a vehicle to perform their duties to the highest standard, gaining valuable HVAC knowledge from industry-leading professionals.
Candidates must be members—or willing to join—the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry, have at least one year of experience with mechanical HVAC systems, and possess knowledge of facilities management, site preparation, and equipment servicing. Effective interpersonal and leadership skills, a self-starter attitude, a commitment to safety, and a valid driver’s license are also required.
Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years of trade-school or college education with a technical focus. This is a bargaining-unit position offering an hourly wage of $21-34 based on the collective bargaining agreement, with benefits provided through the local labor union.
