Key responsibilities include collaborating with site and hub leadership to meet contractual obligations, performing maintenance, repair, and component replacement on turbine electrical and mechanical systems, and troubleshooting complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on variable‑pitch and variable‑speed turbines. Technicians must follow all safety requirements, document work using computer‑based reporting tools, and coordinate with GE’s remote operations center when necessary.
Applicants must hold a High School Diploma or GED, possess at least one year of wind technician or related electrical experience, and have a valid driver’s license. The role demands the ability to lift 50 lb repeatedly, climb towers up to 300 ft, and adhere to manufacturer weight limits of 300 lb with gear. Candidates should be able to work in diverse industrial settings, prioritize tasks per contract, take initiative without direct supervision, and accept rotating shift schedules with occasional overnight on‑call duties.
Preferred qualifications include an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical, electrical, or electronics field, or a wind‑energy certification. Experience with hydraulic power tools, heavy equipment, crane and rigging operations, and prior wind turbine work is valued. The ability to collaborate with personnel at all levels inside and outside the wind farm is also important.
