Junior Structural Engineer

Description

• Assist in analysis and design of structural components for transportation and infrastructure projects (bridges, retaining walls, culverts, stations).
• Prepare structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
• Support construction engineering and inspection activities, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams such as civil, geotechnical, construction management, and inspection staff.
• Perform site visits and field observations as needed.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and agency requirements (AASHTO, DOT, local).
• Support project schedules, budgets, and quality control procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering (Master’s a plus).
• 0–3 years of relevant experience; internships or co‑ops considered.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Familiarity with structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, STAAD, RAM).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; Revit experience a plus.
• Basic understanding of transportation infrastructure design standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
