LCV NORTHCOM NTC: Tactical Vehicle Mechanic (NIGHT SHIFT)

Description

KBR supports LOGCAP NORTHCOM by providing rapid response services for scheduled and unscheduled U.S. Army training exercises at two locations. The program delivers typical LOGCAP services to ensure warfighter operations run smoothly.

The Tactical Vehicle Mechanic (night shift) is responsible for maintaining and repairing tactical and commercial vehicles, reading military technical manuals, determining required parts, and mentoring co‑workers. Duties include diagnostic testing, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and upholding the Zero Harm culture. The position works the night shift from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, Saturday through Wednesday.

• Perform Fully Mission Capable (FMC) and safety verifications on heavy and light tactical wheeled vehicles.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled mechanical maintenance on forklifts, cranes, transport trucks, and other equipment.
• Run diagnostic tests to identify and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and cooling system failures.
• Remove, repair, and replace engine, drivetrain, and body components of vehicles and equipment.
• Generate and maintain physical and electronic logbooks ensuring work complies with technical manuals.
• Mentor apprentices and co‑workers through on‑the‑job training and cross‑training sessions.
• Communicate with customers during off‑site FMC and safety verifications and produce performance reports.
• Support Zero Harm culture, Continuous Improvement Process (CIP), and QA program while meeting housekeeping requirements.
• Comply with all KBR rules, policies, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder with 3 years US residence and pass a background investigation.
• Require a high school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 2.5 years of experience with military tactical vehicles, semi‑truck tractors, trailers, or heavy‑duty construction equipment.
• Associate’s degree in Automotive Technology within the last 5 years may substitute for experience.
• Extensive knowledge of power/drivetrain, brakes, electrical, and fuel systems required.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures, rain, sand, and dust; lift 40 lb unassisted and team‑lift up to 50 lb.
• Must be able to stand, stoop, crawl, and climb for extended periods, including in confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s license and capability to obtain a military operator’s permit; meet CMF criteria per DA PAM 611‑21, AR 601‑210, and AR 750‑1.
• Preferred: ASE certification.
