Tasks

-Support proposal preparation through creative thinking and alternative approaches -Review RFPs and steer the proposal execution plan and deliverables in the direction needed to win, using elements established in the pursuit strategy -Provide exposure to potential new clients and expand relationships with existing clients -Review proposals to ensure that RFP requirements are met (technical and commercial) and that the price is competitive -Identify any capability gaps and strategic partner or teaming requirements needed to win -Review and update the hydropower and dam safety strategy and action plan -Work with CAMs to ensure a coordinated client management process -Serve as client account manager (CAM) for some clients -Provide assistance during the proposal and award process and throughout the project life cycle -Track business opportunities using BBA’s opportunity database management system -Recommend potential strategic resources and organizations that can complement in-house expertise -Actively participate in executing engineering mandates such as study mandates, detailed design, dam safety reviews, etc -Mentor young and future lead engineers within the organization -Support succession planning and identify strategic hires who will lead the business -Promotion of our experts (SMEs), both externally and internally -Identify, assess and recommend key hiring competencies specific to the hydropower and dam safety sector to ensure high-quality work, and expand markets -Oversee project delivery and serve as a sponsor or Engineer of Record for selected projects -Identify target clients toward building a sustainable portfolio, balanced between repeat business and capital expenditure projects -Cross-sell the services of other disciplines within the firm -Position the firm for upcoming business opportunities and prepare pursuit and capture strategies

Requirements

What You Bring

-At least 15 years of relevant experience -Civil engineering degree from a recognized university -Registered as a professional engineer in Québec or Ontario -Caring mindset that puts people first -Sense of equity and inclusion -Strong commitment to health and safety -Business acumen -Demonstrated inspiring leadership -Advanced level of French and English to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec. The frequency of English use may range from occasional to daily, depending on ongoing projects -Consulting engineering experience in civil structures hydropower and dam design, business development and project execution -Asset: Experience preparing budgets, estimates and schedules, with financial modelling skills -Available to travel occasionally
