The role involves delivering technically sound engineering solutions from inception to completion, preparing designs, calculations and documentation, supporting junior staff, and contributing to bid preparation and health‑and‑safety practices.
- Produce technically sound structural and bridge engineering solutions.
- Lead design, calculations, drawings and documentation to meet quality, cost and programme targets.
- Manage project delivery from inception through completion, including bid support.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers on technical tasks.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers and stakeholders, attending progress meetings and responding to queries.
- Integrate health and safety practices and sustainability considerations into all work.
- Apply CDM, risk assessment and interface management across multi‑discipline projects.
- Utilise engineering analysis software such as LUSAS or Autodesk Structural Bridge Design.
- Join inclusive affinity groups supporting diverse employee networks.

Successful candidates will have solid experience in structural design, knowledge of Eurocodes and relevant standards, proficiency with tools such as LUSAS or Autodesk Bridge Design, and strong communication, stakeholder and risk‑management skills.
- Demonstrate experience in structural/bridge engineering, preferably from an Assistant Engineer role.
- Know DMRB, Eurocodes, CIRIA guidance and other relevant standards.
- Show strong critical thinking, problem‑solving and commercial awareness.
- Possess excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
- Understand CDM regulations and risk mitigation strategies.
- Work towards or hold Chartered status with ICE, IStructE or an equivalent professional institution.
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
