Chief Civil, Structural, and Architectural Estimator

Description

Loenbro Southwest seeks a Chief Civil, Structural and Architectural Estimator to lead the pre‑construction estimating process for our diverse project portfolio. The role is responsible for developing and managing budgets, conducting value engineering, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The estimator will collaborate closely with project managers and other stakeholders to deliver accurate, competitive cost assessments.

• Lead and manage a team of estimators, providing guidance and training.
• Develop clear project scopes and analyze requirements to identify risks and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Prepare comprehensive proposals with detailed cost breakdowns, timelines, and scope of work.
• Review architectural, structural, and civil plans to spot design issues and risks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Negotiate contracts to ensure profitability and compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure smooth execution and timely completion.
• Adhere to all safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory changes.
• Ensure meticulous attention to detail in estimates and proposals.
• Organize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
• Work effectively with cross‑functional teams to support company goals.
• Mentor and develop a team of estimators.
• Perform prolonged desk work and computer tasks.
• Conduct site visits, navigating uneven surfaces and stairs.
• Participate in a 401(k) plan with company match.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Possess 10+ years of civil, structural, and architectural estimating experience.
• Proficient in estimating software, CAD tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understand construction methods, materials, and processes.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Travel out of state as required.
