Key responsibilities: serve as a trusted advisor guiding clients through permitting, compliance and environmental risk management; mentor and grow a multidisciplinary team while overseeing Alaska office operations; direct complex permitting programs for renewable energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance; identify emerging market trends, lead proposals and position ERM as a market leader in Alaska; manage profitability, resource planning and operational efficiency; and develop culturally appropriate strategies for stakeholder and community engagement.

• Lead and expand ERM’s Alaska operations, delivering major infrastructure and energy projects.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing multidisciplinary team while overseeing Alaska office operations.
• Direct complex permitting programs for renewable energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with NEPA and Alaska‑specific regulations.
• Drive business development, market growth and profitability through client strategy, proposals and stakeholder engagement.
• Develop culturally appropriate engagement strategies with Native Alaskan communities and local stakeholders.

Requirements

What you’ll bring – required: a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, planning or a related discipline, or 15 + years equivalent experience. At least 8 years of project management, licensing and permitting experience for major capital projects in Alaska or the Pacific Northwest, with proven expertise in NEPA and Alaska‑specific environmental regulations. Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams, strong business‑development skills, and a valid driver’s license with willingness to travel approximately 10 % of the time.

Preferred qualifications include 12 + years of relevant project management experience, advanced technical knowledge in environmental impact assessment and permitting strategies, proficiency in GIS and resource‑mapping tools, and experience engaging Native Alaskan communities to support social‑license initiatives.

• Required: Bachelor’s/Master’s in environmental science, engineering, planning or 15 + years equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of project management, licensing and permitting experience for major capital projects in Alaska or Pacific Northwest.
• Proven expertise in NEPA and Alaska environmental regulations; strong leadership and business‑development skills.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel ~10 % within Alaska and occasional out‑of‑state trips.
