Description

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair electrodynamic shaker systems from multiple manufacturers (e.g., UD, LDS, IMV, MB Dynamics).
• Troubleshoot complex issues, disassemble, clean, inspect, and replace components such as flexures, shear mounts, bearings, and field coils.
• Implement an annual shaker and amplifier maintenance program.
• Ensure safe operation and apply system safety requirements to mitigate hazards.
• Document all maintenance and repair activities on shaker systems.
• Communicate effectively with vendors for timely delivery and proper ordering.

Requirements

Element is seeking a Senior Electro Dynamics Service Technician for the Technical Services Group (TSG) within Element Product Qualification Testing (PQT). TSG is responsible for overseeing standardization and ensuring technical excellence across the entire network of Aerospace and Energy PQT laboratories. As an Electrodynamic Service Technician, you will manage all service and repair needs for a fleet of over 50 electrodynamic systems. This role requires frequent travel to 10+ key locations throughout the U.S. and Canada to provide hands‑on support and maintenance.

The service technician will work out of one of our primary dynamics test facilities (Huntsville, Alabama; Boxborough, Massachusetts; or Longmont, Colorado) but will also support the entire North American region. This position requires being on the road 70‑80% of the time, which may include overnight stays, weekend work, and travel on short notice.

• 5‑10+ years experience repairing and maintaining E‑D shaker systems.
• U.S. citizen or green card holder with a valid passport.
• Strong mechanical knowledge for detailed physical repairs.
• Strong electronic knowledge of amplifiers, field supplies, and control systems.
• Ability to methodically diagnose complex problems and develop effective solutions.
• Ability to clearly explain technical information to colleagues and customers; familiarity with common shaker brands and control hardware is a plus.
• Experience with service, maintenance, and repair of electrohydraulic shakers is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational abilities.

Benefits

Salary ranges from $45 to $55 per hour, depending on experience. This rate is DOE.
