- Perform routine engineering and design tasks and participate in field reviews or construction observation.
- Work under the direct supervision of a Senior Engineer.
- Perform QA reviews of P&C design on substation design packages.
- Conducting analyses to develop design options, performing modeling and calculations for protective relay systems.
- Work independently on small tasks and may assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects.
- Prepare design sketches and redline drawings on substation design projects. Typical designs include oneline diagrams, protection and control schematic development, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, substation physical layouts, material lists, and conduit and cable sizing/routing.

- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with Power emphasis.
- Familiarity or willingness to learn electrical engineering software such as AutoCAD, CAPE, ASPEN, and ETAP.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
- 2+ years experience doing electrical power system analysis, electrical system planning, protective device application, settings and substation design is highly preferred.
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
